Mike Mutungi

Mike Mutungi is the Chief Executive Officer I Choose Life – Africa. He founded the organization in 2004 and has since been focusing on the growth and development of young people in Africa starting with Kenya. He has a passion for development and strategic development with a focus on sustainability. Mike has designed enormous programs addressing youth challenges in Health, Education, Environment & Climate, Economic Empowerment & Employability, Leadership & Governance, Institutional Strengthening, Safety and talent naturing with the spiritual foundation of the youth at the core of all ICL Work.  

Mike holds a Bachelor degree in Geospatial Engineering from the University of Nairobi and a Masters in Divinity from Nairobi International School of Theology as well as a higher Diploma in Strategic Management. He has a passion for strategic planning, Empowerment, building teams that influence and impact change in their community through mentorship as a key intervention. He has overseen the development of strategic plans for programs and organizations in Africa, America’s, Europe and the Middle East.

Mike is currently championing the Africa 1 Million youth Empowerment Challenge that seeks to increase opportunities for young people in High school, Universities and out of school.

He sits and chairs several boards and has been at the forefront of starting several social enterprises. He is the immediate former Chair of the Elder Council at the Nairobi Chapel and charged with planning. He is also the author of “Kenya Mpya; Selecting and Holding leaders to account”. He is a husband to Josephine and a father to David, Michelle, John and Christal Mutungi.
